That sounds great. Please keep me in the loop. I'm happy to help prototype it and I have access to a CNC routing table and mill.
Does it still require traxxis rods and threaded inserts? Those parts (especially the inserts) are killing the budget trying to source them in the UK!

Yes , a Hall effect sensor should be a good idea !

Yes , the traxxis rods are still here , but not the threaded inserts .
