Arms need minor modifications as well. But I need to rest now.

Pivot arm so far

Added "guide" for spring centering (still enough gap for spring to loose/tight freely)

Aligned

Since you are redesigning, you may also want to consider doing away with the screws in the base all-together.

To assemble, pre-assemble the arm and spring, then slide the spring into the hole on the base.

I have done this on my redesign:

Great idea!

Allow me to take that a step further...

I am doing the same for pivot arm.
This way it will fit more spring types without fear of breaking small parts. One threaded insert and one screw (headless screw preferably but normal allen type ones will do the trick).

Pivot arm design (work in progress)

Edit: Added a pocket to prevent spring movement backwards

In theory I am happy with the designs. Now I have to print and test.

Nice Change!

Great that it gives the versatility of springs.

I am currently working on a total base redesign which incorporates ball bearings as well.

I'll post the pics/designs as soon as I have it tested.

There is some great community progress being made on this design. I've enlisted one of my engineer friends to help me design a handle which will offer 14 digital inputs. Initial brief is to have two 5 way hats on a thumb wedge (similar to CH) and 4 tactile switches on the front face. I'll post the design when we've made something we're happy with.

I would love to see your designs/ideas. I am doing the same (ball bearings) for my (semi) aluminum built with Actobotics parts.

Awesome thread. I have the details worked out for magnetic position sensors, I will post those soon as that will change your design a bit.
